Of the approximately 20 million apartments in Germany’s multi-family homes, around 9 million parking spaces lack charging infrastructure, highlighting significant potential for expansion. The program supports the acquisition and installation of private charging infrastructure, including wall boxes and necessary technical components, as well as grid connections and structural modifications. This initiative addresses the existing disparity in charging access, as three-quarters of EV owners reside in single-family homes.
