The pilots’ union, Vereinigung Cockpit, has called for work stoppages on Thursday and Friday, impacting Lufthansa and its subsidiary Cityline, as well as Eurowings flights. Concurrently, the cabin crew union, Ufo, has commenced a two-day strike, resulting in the cancellation of approximately 800 flights in Munich and 1,200 in Frankfurt. Despite the unions proposing mediation to resolve the disputes, Lufthansa has rejected this offer. The strikes coincide with the airline’s centenary celebrations, which are expected to be disrupted by the ongoing labor actions.
