Germany and India Enhance Defense Cooperation

German Defense Minister Pistorius and Indian counterpart Singh signed a 10-point plan in Berlin to deepen military collaboration.

As part of the agreement, India plans to construct six submarines in Mumbai in partnership with a German firm, valued at eight billion euros. Concurrently, Pistorius unveiled a new military strategy aimed at transforming the Bundeswehr into Europe’s strongest conventional army, targeting an active force of 260,000 personnel. This initiative responds to calls from senior military officials for increased troop levels in light of threats posed by Russia.
