Germany Accuses Russia of Cyberattacks and Sabotage
The German government has summoned the Russian ambassador, Sergej Netschajew, in response to accusations of a significant cyberattack and disinformation campaigns linked to Russia. The government attributes a cyberattack on the German air traffic control in August 2024 to the Russian military intelligence agency GRU, specifically the hacking group known as 'Fancy Bear.' Additionally, the campaign 'Storm 1516' is said to have aimed at influencing the last Bundestag elections and destabilizing Germany's internal affairs. The German authorities have gathered credible information connecting these actions to Russian entities, highlighting ongoing hybrid threats against the West.
