Following shots fired at an Albanian mosque, the Green Party office, and a parked car in Hollabrunn, Lower Austria, the police received multiple reports.

Under the direction of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counterterrorism, initial concrete investigative leads are being pursued as several potential witnesses have come forward.

Forensic examinations are currently being conducted on projectiles found at the crime scenes, with hunting rifles and long guns being ruled out as the source.

Police spokesperson Johann Baumschlager stated that all necessary measures are being taken to quickly clarify the incidents, especially during the pre-Christmas period when police surveillance of mosques and other religious and protective institutions is intensified.

Investigations are also ongoing regarding the vandalism of display cases belonging to the ÖVP and SPÖ in Hollabrunn, with no indications that the incidents extend beyond the district boundaries.
