Currently, approximately 320,000 Syrians are employed in Germany, with over 266,000 in positions contributing to social security. Chancellor Friedrich Merz has indicated a goal for 80% of the 900,000 Syrians in Germany to return to Syria within three years, acknowledging the complexity of this objective.
