Upcoming Beatles Miniseries ‘Hamburg Days’ Set for 2027 Release

A new six-part miniseries titled ‘Hamburg Days’ will explore the early years of The Beatles in Germany, scheduled to air on BBC in 2027.

The BBC is set to release ‘Hamburg Days,’ a six-part miniseries that chronicles The Beatles’ formative years in Germany, based on Klaus Voorman’s autobiographical work, ‘It Started in Hamburg.’ Voorman, a pivotal figure in the band’s history, will serve as a consultant for the series. The production, which began in May 2026, faced challenges following the untimely death of actress Luna Jordan, who was originally cast as Astrid Kirchherr; Lea Drinda will now assume the role. The cast includes Ellis Murphy as Paul McCartney and Rhys Mannion as John Lennon, among others. While the exact release date remains unconfirmed, early 2027 is anticipated. This miniseries aims to contribute to the extensive narrative surrounding The Beatles, focusing on their rise to prominence in the early 1960s.
