AfD Vice Markus Frohnmaier Criticizes German Government During US Award Speech
Markus Frohnmaier, the AfD parliamentary deputy leader and ally of party head Alice Weidel, received the “Allen W. Dulles Award” in New York from the New York Young Republican Club. During his speech, Frohnmaier harshly criticized the German government, accusing it of losing its mind and transforming Germany into a country of prosecutors and censors. He warned of a new form of totalitarianism disguised as progress, diversity, and anti-hate speech laws. Frohnmaier condemned government priorities, citing infrastructure decay and alleged support for gender transition work abroad, while accusing authorities of targeting citizens for criticizing Green Party ministers on social media. He likened attempts to ban the AfD to past efforts to exclude Donald Trump from elections, portraying the AfD as a victim of political suppression. Frohnmaier emphasized close collaboration between the AfD and US Republicans, describing it as an alliance against liberal elites. The AfD delegation of about 20 members is in the US to build ties with the Republican Party and discuss surveillance by German domestic intelligence agencies.
