This year’s Christmas feast is the most expensive ever. We compared: how much more must the Christ Child pay this year than in 2019.

Traditionally, Christmas is the peak of many households’ annual expenses calendar. We wanted to see how much the price curve has really risen in recent years, so we chose 2019 as a comparison period – the year before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first result: food prices in the Eurozone have risen on average by about one third since 2019.
