Energy Commissioner Jörgensen highlighted the current security of supply in the EU, primarily due to liquefied natural gas imports from the United States. As of now, German gas storage facilities are approximately 22% full, which is deemed sufficient to sustain supply through the heating season, according to the Initiative Energien Speichern (INES). However, since the onset of the Iran conflict, gas prices in the EU have surged by over 30%.
