Spanish football champion FC Barcelona continues its winning streak in the domestic league with a 2-0 victory over Champions League participant Villarreal.

Brazilian Raphinha scored from a penalty in the 12th minute, and Lamine Yamal added a second goal in the 63rd minute to secure Barcelona’s eighth consecutive league win.

Villarreal’s defender Renato Veiga received a red card in the 39th minute after a harsh foul on Yamal, giving Barcelona a long period of numerical superiority.

Yamal was able to continue playing after treatment, and Barcelona managed the lead without major brilliance but without facing significant danger.

In another match, David Affengruber’s club Elche won decisively 4-0 at home against Rayo Vallecano, with the Austrian defender playing the full match.
