The federal government plans to allocate €250 million annually to assist financially weak states in alleviating municipal burdens. Additionally, €350 million per year will support East German states through increased federal contributions for supplementary pensions from the former GDR. A further €400 million is designated for adjustments in the state financial equalization system benefiting donor states.
