The German government is advancing the implementation of a subsidized industrial electricity price, set to take effect on January 1, 2026, alongside retroactive compensation for 2025. Reiche indicated that discussions among ministries are complete, with final negotiations ongoing with the Finance Ministry. The number of eligible sectors for electricity price compensation will increase from ten to 31, with aid intensity reaching 85%. The initiative aims to mitigate high energy costs for energy-intensive industries, particularly benefiting the chemical, metal, and semiconductor sectors.
