Putin’s Dead Generals: The Length of the Loss List
An explosion in a southern district of Moscow on Monday killed Russian Lieutenant General Fanil Sarwarow in a car bomb detonation.
Russian investigators stated that the involvement of Ukrainian special forces in the attack cannot be ruled out, highlighting the notably high losses among top Russian military officials since the invasion of Ukraine.
The attack resembles a similar incident a year ago when General Igor Kirillow was killed, an act claimed by the Ukrainian intelligence service.
Sarwarow and Kirillow are among 13 generals who have died since the conflict began, according to the loss list presented by Krone+.
These incidents reflect the increasing casualties within the Russian military leadership during the ongoing conflict.
