In a series of incidents deemed unacceptable, Romania’s military shot down a third drone within three days, as reported by President Dan on the platform X. While the origins of two of the drones remain unclear, the drone intercepted on Friday was identified as a Shahed model, commonly utilized by Russia in its assaults on Ukraine. Since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, both Ukrainian and Russian drones have repeatedly violated the airspace of Romania and other NATO member states.
