Initiated by SPD politicians who are cancer survivors, the proposed legislation aims to ensure that individuals who have medically overcome cancer are not permanently disadvantaged. The initiative includes provisions for legal recourse against violations of this right and seeks to establish a collective action framework for patient organizations to enhance enforcement. Experts support the five-year timeframe as a reasonable period after which cancer history should not impact individuals’ opportunities.
