The joint federal-state working group “Zukunftspakt Pflege” is set to present its final report, outlining the framework for a significant reform of the care system in Germany next year. Established by Federal Health Minister Warken in July, the group focuses on ensuring the sustainable financing of long-term care insurance, strengthening outpatient and home-based care services, and simplifying the bureaucratic process for accessing benefits by those in need and their families. An interim report released in October warned of a structural annual funding gap running into the double-digit billions if no countermeasures are taken. The final report is expected to set the course for addressing these challenges and improving the accessibility and quality of care services across the country.
