A deadly attack during Berlin’s Pride event is being investigated as an Islamist terror act.

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt confirmed that the attack at the Berlin Pride event resulted in one death and 29 injuries, with the suspect reportedly using a vehicle and a machete against pedestrians.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Abdul B., is on the run and has a history of attempting to join the Islamic State. Authorities are conducting a nationwide manhunt, with heightened security at transport hubs.
