German authorities launched coordinated raids across multiple states amid suspicions that the banned far-right group ‘Artgemeinschaft’ may still be active.

In a major operation early this morning, prosecutors in Halle conducted searches at 15 properties across six German states, including Saxony-Anhalt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Brandenburg, Berlin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Lower Saxony. The raids targeted individuals suspected of continuing activities linked to the outlawed far-right organization known as the ‘Artgemeinschaft.’ The group, which promoted neo-Nazi ideology, was officially banned in September 2023.

The State Criminal Police Office of Saxony-Anhalt is leading the investigation into 15 individuals who are alleged to have violated Germany’s strict laws against operating prohibited organizations. Prosecutors have confirmed that they are focusing on suspected breaches of the ban but have withheld further details to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

The ‘Artgemeinschaft’ was disbanded based on its deeply racist and anti-democratic agenda, with central tenets rooted in neo-Nazi ideals, including racial purity and antisemitic beliefs. The federal court had previously rejected the group’s legal challenge to overturn the ban in April 2026, describing it as having an ‘aggressive and combative stance.’ Today’s raids aim to uncover whether remnants or successor entities of the group are still operating underground, defying the legal prohibition.
