As of mid-July, the unit has initiated 514 investigations, resulting in 263 temporary detentions and the seizure of 56 firearms, alongside other weapons and vehicles. The investigations reveal that perpetrators have exploited publicly accessible information, particularly from social media, to target predominantly Turkish business owners, with links to organized crime networks. The Berlin judiciary has established a dedicated task force, ‘Telum’, to focus on cases related to organized crime, specifically those arising from the activities of ‘BAO Ferrum’.
