Authorities in Brandenburg are investigating explosive devices discovered near a coal power plant, raising security concerns.

Explosive devices were found near the Jänschwalde coal power plant in southern Brandenburg, prompting an investigation into a suspected attack. Interior Minister Jan Redmann stated that rockets were manufactured for this purpose, although he could not confirm an explosion occurred.

The police reported that several unconventional incendiary and explosive devices were discovered, with at least one detonation noted. Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke condemned the attack, emphasizing the need to protect critical infrastructure and ensure public safety.
