This incident follows Romania’s first successful interception of an intruding drone the previous day, approximately 100 kilometers from Bucharest, over uninhabited territory. Romania shares a 600-kilometer border with Ukraine, which has been under Russian attack, and has previously experienced multiple incursions by Russian drones. Legislative measures enabling the downing of such drones were established by Bucharest in the previous year.
