Wietersdorfer Faces Revenue Dip Amid Global Challenges
Industrial giant Wietersdorfer reports a 1.3% revenue decline, citing US tariffs and economic pressures as key factors.
The Wietersdorfer Group, a global industrial conglomerate, announced a 1.3% revenue drop for the past fiscal year. CEO Hannes Gailer attributed the losses, estimated between $8-10 million, to US tariff policies that have disrupted the import of resins and fiberglass essential for pipe production in the United States. Despite these setbacks, the company remains optimistic, planning to invest in its operations and expand facilities in Turkey, Slovenia, and Africa.
In Europe, which accounts for 75% of the company’s €1 billion annual revenue, Wietersdorfer is investing €3 million in ‘green cement’ production in Görtschitztal. This eco-friendly cement, with a reduced clinker content, aims to lower CO2 emissions. Meanwhile, a 37.9% revenue boost in Italy, driven by the acquisition of a cement plant in Fanna, added €40 million to the company’s earnings. However, challenges persist, including factory closures in Germany and Poland, and rising costs due to the Iran conflict and oil price surges.
