The Dutch Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR) calls for tougher EU tariffs and controls to counter China’s trade practices.

The WRR, advising the Dutch government, will present findings to ministers on August 27, urging Europe to act faster against China’s subsidized exports and distorted trade strategies.

WRR chair Corien Prins warns that without stronger trade protections, Europe risks losing gains in privacy, labor standards, and climate policies due to cheap Chinese goods priced 30% lower than European products.
