A staggering 9,459 arrest warrants remain unexecuted in Berlin, raising serious public safety concerns.

In Berlin, there are currently 9,459 open arrest warrants against criminal offenders and suspects. Many of these warrants have been issued by judges for police to apprehend the wanted individuals but remain unfulfilled due to suspects going into hiding or being otherwise untraceable.

Almost half of these warrants are related to theft offenses, with hundreds also linked to fraud, drug offenses, driving without a license, assault, and robbery. Notably, murder and manslaughter cases are included as well. Interior Secretary Christian Hochgrebe noted that many serious offenders were deported before serving their sentences, leading to ongoing searches for their return.
