Alice Weidel and Tino Chrupalla will continue to lead the AfD after a successful party vote.

At the AfD federal party congress in Erfurt, Alice Weidel received 81.3% of the votes, surpassing co-leader Tino Chrupalla, who garnered 70.05%. This confirmation comes just two months before the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt.

Chrupalla, who has led the party since 2019, faced a slight decline from his previous vote share of 82.7%. Both leaders were nominated by each other, with no opposing candidates. The party remains committed to a dual leadership structure, despite the possibility of a single leader.
